UK Clinical Research Delivery (UKCRD) is a cross-sector programme that brings together delivery partners and key stakeholders to achieve the common aim of creating a faster, more efficient, more accessible and more innovative clinical research delivery system – making the UK a world leader in clinical trials.

To do this, we will particularly work on improving timely access to health and care research, which will explicitly support the goal of offering a world-leading environment for life sciences research, therefore prioritising work to:

  • streamline and reform the set-up and delivery of clinical trials through digitalisation and reducing unnecessary bureaucracy
  • drive a ‘right research, right setting’ initiative, to include a move to research delivery in primary and community care
  • move from a reactive to a proactive model of portfolio management

In particular, by committing to speeding up clinical trial set-up and delivery to under 150 days, we are breaking down barriers to innovation, expanding patient access to potential new therapies and research, and helping position the UK as the leading destination for life sciences partners, where R&D (Research & Development) thrives.
